1. Who these terms are with
Lexica is provided by Astemir Boziev EI ("we", "us"), an entrepreneur individuel registered in France as a micro-entreprise, SIRET 131 332 322 00018, of 4 rue Saint-Julien, 78000 Versailles, France. The legal notice has the full details. "You" means the person using Lexica.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Lexica. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16, or the lower age your country's law permits with parental consent. By using Lexica you confirm you meet the applicable age requirement.
3. Your account
Lexica requires an account. You create one by signing in with Apple or Google; there is no password for us to store and no separate registration form. You can link both to the same account.
The same account works in the iPhone app and in the web app at app.uselexica.com, and your cards sync between them. You are responsible for keeping access to the Apple or Google account you sign in with secure.
You may delete your account at any time: on the iPhone in Profile → Delete Account, on the web in Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
4. What you may do with Lexica
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Lexica for your own study: the iPhone app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service, and the web app in a browser. This licence is subject to these terms.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or create derivative works of the app, rent, lease, sell or sublicense it, remove any proprietary notices, or use it other than as the app's interface permits.
5. Your content
Your cards are yours. You keep all rights in the decks, cards, notes and other material you create or upload ("your content"). We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us only the narrow licence we need to run the service for you: to store your content, transmit it, process it (including sending it to our AI provider when you ask for a translation, example, transcription or audio clip), and display it back to you across your devices. This licence exists only to operate Lexica for you and ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for your content. You confirm you have the right to use any text you paste into Lexica, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's copyright or other rights.
Your content is private unless you share it. Sharing a deck creates a link: anyone who has it can see the deck's name, its cards and your first name, and can copy the deck into their own Lexica. A shared link expires 90 days after it was last shared or opened in Lexica, and you are responsible for what you share.
If you connect an AI assistant to Lexica (for example Claude or ChatGPT, through the connector in Profile), it can read and change your decks and cards when you ask it to. The assistant is provided by its own company under its own terms.
6. AI-generated content
Lexica uses generative AI to produce translations, example sentences, phonetic transcriptions and pronunciation audio, and to generate whole decks from a topic or a piece of text you provide.
AI output can be wrong. Translations may be inaccurate or miss context, example sentences may be unnatural, and phonetic transcriptions may not match any particular regional accent. Lexica is a study aid, not an authoritative reference, and it is not a substitute for a teacher, a dictionary or professional translation. Do not rely on it where accuracy matters — in professional, legal, medical or safety-critical settings, for example.
You are responsible for reviewing generated material before you rely on it. We do not warrant that AI-generated content is accurate, complete or fit for any purpose. Generated content is delivered to you as part of your content and is subject to section 5.
7. Lexica Pro and subscriptions
Lexica Pro unlocks unlimited decks and cards, far more AI actions each day (up to a daily fair-use ceiling), the AI assistant connector and the advanced insights. Pro belongs to your Lexica account, so it works on the iPhone and on the web wherever you are signed in, whichever way you bought it.
You can buy Pro in the iPhone app, from Apple, or on the web, from Link. Neither has a free trial: you pay when you buy.
Buying on the iPhone
| Product | Type |
|---|---|
| Lexica Pro Monthly | Auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly |
| Lexica Pro Annual | Auto-renewing subscription, billed yearly |
| Lexica Pro Lifetime | One-time purchase, does not renew |
Current prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. Prices vary by region and may change; any change to the price of an existing subscription will be notified to you by Apple, and where required your consent will be sought.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app or your Lexica account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
- Refunds of App Store purchases are at Apple's discretion under the App Store Terms of Service. We cannot issue them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Buying on the web
On the web, Pro is sold by Link, Stripe's reseller service, on a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Link is the seller of record: it charges you, collects any tax and issues your receipt, under its own terms. We provide Lexica Pro to your account.
| Plan | Type |
|---|---|
| Monthly | Auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly |
| Annual | Auto-renewing subscription, billed yearly |
| Lifetime | One-time purchase, does not renew |
- The price is shown before you pay and includes tax.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel at any time in the web app under Profile → Billing → Manage billing, or at link.com. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Deleting your Lexica account cancels a web subscription at once, with no refund for the rest of the period, and ends a lifetime purchase, which belongs to the account.
- If we change the price of a subscription, we will tell you before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
Your right to withdraw from a web purchase
You can change your mind. Within 14 days of buying a web subscription or Lifetime, you can withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason, and we refund it in full, even if you have already used Pro. This is the right of withdrawal that consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have, and we give it to everyone who buys on the web.
- How to withdraw: email support@uselexica.com, ideally from the address on your receipt, saying that you withdraw from your purchase of Lexica Pro, or send us the form below. Any clear statement will do. Your message only has to be sent before the 14 days have passed.
- The 14 days start on the day of your first payment for a plan. A subscription's renewals do not start a new period; to stop one, cancel it before it renews, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Your refund is the full amount you paid, tax included, made through Link to the payment method you used, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, at no cost to you. Your purchase then ends: a subscription is cancelled at once and Pro stops on your account.
- After the 14 days, you can still ask us at support@uselexica.com, and we decide case by case. Link support at link.com can also help with a payment.
Purchases made on the iPhone are refunded by Apple, as explained above, including under the right of withdrawal.

8. The free tier
Lexica is usable without paying, subject to limits on the number of decks and cards and on daily AI actions. Reviews are never limited. The current limits are shown in the app. We may adjust them, and we will not reduce them in a way that removes access to content you have already created.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use Lexica to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- generate or share content that is unlawful, or that is abusive, harassing or hateful toward any person or group;
- share decks whose content you do not have the right to share;
- attempt to circumvent the free-tier limits, the purchase flow, or our anti-abuse protections;
- probe, scan, overload or attempt unauthorised access to our systems or another user's data;
- extract our service through automated means, or use it to build a competing product.
Generation requests are also subject to Google's generative-AI prohibited use policy, since Google provides the models.
10. Availability and changes
Lexica requires an internet connection: your cards live on our servers, and creating, editing, reviewing and generating all need connectivity. It is not designed to work offline.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. If we discontinue Lexica entirely we will give reasonable notice in the app and on the web where we can, so you have an opportunity to delete your account. If we discontinue it while you have an active web subscription, we will refund the unused part of the period.
11. Ending this agreement
You may stop using Lexica and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, and we will give notice where it is reasonable to do so. Sections 5, 6, 12, 13 and 14 survive termination.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lexica is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that any content — particularly AI-generated content — is accurate.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of Lexica.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Lexica is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Lexica in the twelve months before the claim, or €50.
Please keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in its courts as well as in the French courts.
If something goes wrong, please contact us first at support@uselexica.com. If you are a consumer and we have not resolved the dispute after you contacted us in writing, you can refer it free of charge to our consumer mediator, the Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice (CM2C), online at cm2c.net, under articles L611-1 and following of the French Consumer Code.
15. Apple
This section applies to the iPhone app. These terms are between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Lexica or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for Lexica. If Lexica fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Lexica.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Lexica, including product liability claims, any claim that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, or claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any third-party claim that Lexica infringes intellectual property rights.
You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use Lexica after that means you accept the new terms.
